Abstract.
The article deals with the theoretical positions concerning the professional and professionally oriented (performed by non-specialists) communication, as well as presents the results of the research of terminological units within the professional discourse in the form of the analysis of the formal and informal types of the professional discourse. The relevance of the study of terminological units in the communicative-functional terms is stipulated by the identification of the integral characteristics of terms that are not available only through the structural-semantic analysis.
