Abstract.
The article examines the key points of Gogol’s prose perception in Germany on the basis of reviewing German literary critical editions for the period of 1900-1940. The paper introduces into scientific use the previously unknown and little known publications of German authors. The research is focused on developing the basic trends of the modern German Gogol studies.
