Abstract.
The article examines the nomination principles of clothes and head-dresses and their elements in the Yakut language. The nominations in 16 motivation features are highlighted. While choosing this or that motivation feature in the nomination of clothes the native speaker proceeds from his/her life experience when perceiving and evaluating their features and qualities.
