Abstract. The article is devoted to the formation of students’ competitive features. Participation in scientific conferences and contests in a foreign language gives students an opportunity to present their own ideas and test their abilities in a real situation. The acquired experience contributes to students’ self-esteem and self-criticism rise and later on will significantly increase their competitiveness necessary for getting a worthy job and successful promotion track.
