Abstract.
The article deals with the space of Tatar folktales, namely, the peculiarities of space representation in the works of the folk genre. The author emphasizes that movement (the course of events) is exposed to the resistance of the surrounding environment. Particular stress is laid on obstacles, which result in the change of the static state of the fairy tale space. The paper explores the relationship of space boundaries in fairy tales: the character’s transfer to a strange, different world. The author analyzes all the events that occur in the structure of space.
