Abstract.
The article is devoted to the analysis of the data obtained as a result of the field research of the current state of the use of the Oroqen and Chinese languages in the national regions of the north of the province Heilongjiang, People’s Republic of China. On the basis of the native speakers’ questionings the author concludes that the Oroqen language, formerly widespread in the regions of their compact residence, as a result of the industrial activity, intermarriages, peripheral language environment, changing language behaviour and other reasons was gradually displaced by the Chinese language.
