SEMANTICS OF THE GERMAN VERBS OF TACTILE SENSE

Abstract.
Tactile sense plays an important role in human perception of the environmental reality. Within the framework of the German language the concept “tactile sense” has quite a wide expression, including verbal lexis, which covers about 50 verbs. In the already existing researches and lexicographical sources only a part of tactile verbs is described. The article eliminates the gap in this area. The conducted study of the semantics of the German verbs of tactile sense revealed a large number of synonyms in the corpus of lexical units under consideration. The meanings of verbs were studied using the componential analysis, involving both the paradigmatic and syntagmatic analyses, by singling out various semes. Apart from the componential composition of meanings the author was able to identify additional features, such as stylistic and regional marking in the use of the verbs.
