Abstract.
The article analyzes linguistic and cognitive peculiarities of the object slot of an economic event. The study shows that individuals, institutions, organizations, cities, countries, and, on the whole, various realities of the economic world as well may act as the object of an economic event. In business news the above mentioned units are expressed explicitly. Nevertheless, considering the fact that the economic event is characterized by anthropocentricity and any result has its direct or indirect impact on people, one may also speak about implicit character of the object slot.
