Abstract.
The article presents the most common typical features of common story places, the characters’ peculiarities that should be considered as elements of an ancient initiation rite, which reflected to a different degree and at different levels in the Circassians’ mythological-folklore texts. In spite of all their singularity, they repeat the common signs of characters’ initiation that were marked by V. Ya. Propp by the example of the Russian fairy tales and folklore of other nations.
