Abstract.
The article examines the problem of anthroponym functioning in the Dargin linguistic environment. The male and female names of over seven thousand residents of Gurbuki village of Dagestan’s Karabudakhkentsky District are under analysis. The ethno-linguistic aspect of the research allowed identifying the similarity in the formation and development of the Dargin anthroponymic system by the example of a single settlement’s anthroponymycon. Gurbuki residents’ personal names are classified into the ethno-linguistic groups, the dialectal peculiarities of personal names are identified.
