Abstract.
The article reveals the concept "paradox", which is now one of the controversial issues of linguistics, as well as marks the features of one of the genres of journalism and media style - a comment. The author examines the functioning of the stylistic paradox in comments and divides it into individual groups, in which it manifests - style refraction and discrepancy of form and content. This study is carried out by the material of the contemporary German newspapers.
