Abstract. This article analyzes the religious symbolism of Don DeLillo’s novel “Falling Man”, examines the nature of the image of the character Lianne and her way out of the crisis after the 11th of September. Due to the consideration of the semantics of the circle in the novel and its influence on the text structure a new interpretation of the novel’s finale, of the characters Keith, Falling Man and Hammad is given. The conclusion is made about the transformation of the author’s views on the possibility of human existence in the modern space of hyperreality after the 11th of September.
