THE USE OF CONCEPTUAL METAPHOR IN S. YESENIN’S POETRY

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the use of the conceptual metaphor in S. Yesenin’s poetry. The author reveals the notion and types of the conceptual metaphor. Particular attention is paid to the structural metaphor in more than 20 analyzed poems written by Sergey Yesenin. Basing on the study the author concludes about the main function of the colour metaphor, which consists in expressing the mood. The action of this means of figurative expression is represented by the following scheme: the source domain - the human inner world, the purpose of the expression - colour.
