Abstract.
The article considers parcelled complex sentences in the dramatic work by S. Ermolaev-Sien “Pine in the Middle of Alas” as the author’s technique to actualize the speech fragment. The paper analyzes the use of different types of complex sentences, identifies the type and model of their subordinate predicative units. The skillful use of parcelling imparts semantic and emotional expressiveness to a literary work.
