Abstract.
The paper studies the ways of lexical representation of joy in the American (Am) and the British (Br) English. Joy is one of the dominant human emotions, possessing certain linguistic-cultural characteristics, ethnic specificity and special ways of linguistic expression. The objective of the study is a comparison of lexical means, nominating the emotions of joy through the analysis of the American and the British authors’ literary texts and dictionaries.
