CONTEXT OF THE LEXEME VIEW IN FICTIONAL DISCOURSE

Abstract.
The article presents the author’s opinion about the possibilities of the corpus approach to the differentiation of lexical-semantic variants of the word view, and shows that the context of the lexical-semantic variant “opinion, point of view” of the lexeme view differs from relevant contexts of other lexical-semantic variants. By the material of literary texts of the Russian National Corpus the authors study the metaphorical and non-metaphorical contexts of the lexeme. Metaphoricalness of the categorization of this referent by the native English speakers is confirmed by the compatibility with lexemes of specific semantics. Non-metaphorical context is implemented in combination with the vocabulary of abstract semantics.
