TYPOLOGY OF FEMALE IMAGES IN RUSSIAN LITERATURE OF THE END OF THE XIX - THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract.
The article presents the results of the analysis of essential traits of the female images by the material of seventeen short stories of the Russian writers of the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century. The method of graphic-semantic modeling is the main method of the study of women’s images. The researcher identifies relevant semantic fields (“characteristic of behaviour”, “portrait details”, etc.) representing the image of a woman. According to the analysis the author determines the typology of female images on the basis of the predominance of these or those traits of character.
