Abstract.
The article is devoted to the study of meanings and peculiarities of translation of somatic phraseological units in English, German and Russian. The obtained data show that in the culture of the studied languages the majority of somatic phraseological units are similar in meaning, but there are interesting cases of meanings discrepancy. Phraseological units under study have the following translation correspondences: phraseological variant, phraseological analogue, calquing, descriptive and antonymic translation.
