ENGLISH PHRASAL VERBS OF SPEECH IN THE LIGHT OF SEMANTIC ANALYSIS

Abstract. The article presents the experience of systematization of the English phrasal verbs of speech activity. The peculiarities of semantics of phrasal verbs are described, their systemic properties are identified. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the set of variable components of the meanings of the studied integrated units, in particular, the object of the action, characteristics of the object of action, aim of action, temporal extent, with the help of which one can describe the main characteristics of speech activity, as well as language means of their expression.
