Abstract.
For the first time the article discusses the ways of development of the genre content of “the military story” in the Mari prose of the second half of the 1940-ies - the beginning of the 1980-ies. The paper shows the enrichment of its range of problems and figurative system compared to the small prose of 1941-1945. The author reveals some aspects of genre poetics, which is the result of this process.
