FEMALE IMAGES IN RUSSIAN ANTI-UTOPIAN NOVELS

Abstract. In the article the peculiarities of the anti-utopian genre which has not lost its relevance throughout the century are identified. The authors focus on the analysis of female images, revealing their specificity typical for anti-utopias: liberatedness, demonism, infernality, “sinfulness”, and emancipation. Female characters are a kind of engine in the fates of the main heroes, and therefore, they are socially active, which can be explained by the genre nature of anti-utopias.
