Abstract.
In this article an attempt is made to analyze the role and semantic features of the isolated sentence members in the structure of the English text. As a result of the linguistic material analysis it is concluded that isolated sentence members acquire additional contextual connotations when functioning in the elementary thematic unit of the text - dicteme - where isolation is a marker of a communicative, suprasyntactic level.
