Abstract. By the example of Vietnam and Russia the article considers the problem of formation and correction of the country’s image in the light of prevailing stereotypes and ideologems, as well as archetypal features of mentality. Analyzing Vietnamese Russian language Internet resources, the author comes to the conclusion that modern Vietnam is forming its image in Russia on the basis of its cultural wealth, interesting to tourists, and positive traits of the national character (peacefulness, kindness and hard work).
