Abstract.
The article raises the question of the representation of the concept «псэ» (soul) by the material of the phraseology of the novel-dilogy “The peaks are not asleep” by A. P. Keshokov. The paper deals with the system cases of the purposeful use by the author of a thematic group of phraseological units for the purpose of revealing their national and cultural specificity. The study also focuses attention on the fact that A. P. Keshokov in his many-sided creative works shaded the generally accepted notion of a certain concept, as he had his own vision, his interpretation of it. So, the concept «псэ» (soul) in poet’s view is not just a soul, but it is life itself, physical life is nothing if there is no soul.
