Abstract. In the article it is proved that the poetics of the fantasy in B. Müstecaplıoğlu’s novel “The Country of Shamans” (2012) forms a complex set of artistic means, among which the central place is occupied by the speech-genre lexical units connected with the notion “unreal”. These lexemes make up two intra-textual paradigms, revealing different aspects of the fantastic - with positive (shamans, Divine powers, Good) and negative (magic, state, Evil) connotations. Fantastic poetics is supplemented by an unusual plot, a phantasmagoric chronotope, and subjective (character-based) oppositions. The subjective distinctions (personal and group) are supported by the provision of subjects with supernatural properties and by modeling of sublanguages.
