Abstract.
The article examines the basic problems of Ingush poetry development, identifies the peculiarities of poetical creation of the Ingush literary artists of initial period, and considers the specificity of their lyrics and original implementation of theme and idea. The author establishes the basic stages of Ingush poetry development, identifies the role and place of Ingush poetry in North Caucasian literature. Special attention is paid to the artistic heritage of the fathers of Ingush poetry T. D. Bekov and S. I. Oziev, A. I. Oziev, Kh.-B. Sh. Mutaliev et al.
