Abstract.
The article examines free rhythms genre and stylistic peculiarities which allow distinguishing them from marginal forms - metric poetry and rhythmical prose. As an example the paper provides two different author’s versions of “Hymns to the Night” by Novalis. Studying these versions justifies the thesis that the basic criterion to refer free rhythms to poetry is the poetical line as dynamical principle.
