Abstract.
In the article the representation of the image of Bashkortostan in the works of R. V. Pal’ is analyzed. The writer’s skill in describing the picturesque paintings of nature and the original culture of the Bashkir region and the ability to convey against this background the contradictory and hard fate of the contemporary are noted. Auto-stereotypical perception of the locus in the writer’s different genre works is reconstructed through the use of the retrospective technique and the Bashkir folklore material.
