THE GENRE VARIETIES OF CHUVASH DRAMA OF THE 1960-1980S

Abstract. The article is devoted to the identification of some aspects of Chuvash drama development in the 1960-1980s, which allow representing its genre and artistic specificity. Particular attention is paid to playwrights’ search of those years that were aimed at understanding the inner world of the man. They determined the following genre-thematic tendencies: historical-biographical, moral-psychological, production dramas develop in dramaturgy, which can be characterized by philosophical generalization and publicism, the strengthening of psychologism and the representation of universal values.
