MODERN “MERKELISM” IN METAPHORS OF THE GERMAN MEDIA POLITICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the cognitive-discursive analysis of metaphorical nominations that objectify the new actual phenomenon, “modern Merkelism”, in the context of the German media political discourse. The identification of the basic metaphorical models of the era of A. Merkel’s rule (2015-2017), with their inherent pragmatic meanings, represents on the whole the destructive nature of the political reality of the Federal Republic of Germany in the analyzed period of time.
