Abstract.
The analysis of specific lexical, syntactic, stylistic peculiarities of various functional styles and substyles, as well as the use of translation methods and techniques in accordance with the features of the text of the corresponding functional style, have been and continue to be the subject of the detailed study in linguistic research. The article is devoted to the study of the linguistic means of a diplomatic substyle, the linguistic peculiarities of a written diplomatic text, in particular the syntactic features, and the corresponding aspects of strategies for translating this type of texts from English into Russian.
