CONCRETE DEFINITION OF SINCERITY IN THE ENGLISH PUBLICISTIC TEXTS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF USING THE LEXEME CANDOUR)

Abstract.
The article analyzes the semantic content of the lexeme “candour” , often used in publicistic texts in English, in order to clarify the concrete definition of the expression of the notion “sincerity”. At the beginning of the article a list of the dictionary meanings of this lexeme is given according to the data of the English explanatory dictionaries. Comparison of dictionary meanings with meanings in publicistic texts shows the appearance of additional meanings that reveal and concretize the understanding of sincerity.
