STUDY OF SYNONYMIC ROWS OF THE KEY LEXEME-REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CONCEPT GENERATION IN ENGLISH

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the componential analysis of synonymic rows of the key lexeme nominating the concept GENERATION in English. The factual basis is the English dictionaries of synonyms, dictionaries-thesauruses, electronic lexicographic resources. Basing on the synonymic rows given in dictionaries, the author tries to construct her own lexical-semantic field of verbalization of the English concept GENERATION. The purpose of this study is to consider the semantics of synonymic units, their functional-stylistic fixation and stylistic nature; to identify the semantic features common to synonymic units, united by one or another lexical-semantic group within the lexical-semantic field of the concept GENERATION.
