Abstract.
In this article the terms used to describe windows in the modern German architectural-building terminology (Germany) are systematized, their translations are specified and interpretations of those terms that represent the specificity and history of windows construction in Germany are given. The information available in dictionaries, as a rule, is not enough for the understanding of such terms and some terms are completely absent in lexicographic sources.
