Abstract.
The article examines the basic difficulties arising in inter-lingual and intercultural transfer of comical based on allusion in the comedic media-discourse. The study of humour and allusion considering the peculiarities of their intercultural transferability within audiovisual translation allows identifying intercultural differences in the linguistic and conceptual worldview, contributes to optimization of intercultural media-communication. The comparative analysis was conducted on the basis of English and Russian subtitles for the sitcom “Friends”.
