THEMES AND PROBLEMATICS OF THE PRIVATE REGIONAL NEWSPAPER “OTKLIKI KAVKAZA” (“CAUCASIAN VOICES”) (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ISSUES OF 1909-1911)

Abstract. The article discovers the peculiarities of the activity of editorial team from the private regional newspaper “Otkliki Kavkaza” (“Caucasian Voices”) published in Armavir in 1909-1918. Special attention is paid to the early years of the newspaper (1909-1911). This period was crucial to form the main trend of the edition, its attitude to the basic events in the world, country and region. The author tries to identify the key problems and thematic lines of the newspaper and points out that its publications provided an interpretation of the national, international and regional events from the viewpoint of liberal and socio-democratic circles. “Otkliki Kavkaza” editorial board contributed to city territory improvement and asserted ideals of progressive development of the society.
