FUNCTIONAL-SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF THE DEFINITE ARTICLE IN THE PAGES OF ELECTRONIC VERSIONS OF THE MODERN GERMAN PRINT MEDIA

Abstract. The article covers the problem of functional-semantic potential of the German definite article in the German language in the aspect of the referential category of definiteness/indefiniteness of nouns based on the material of the electronic versions of modern newspaper texts. The author of the study aims to prove the special importance and appropriateness of using the definite article in certain cases within the framework of contextual-situational conditions in different genres of the German print media.
