Abstract.
The article studies the types of semantic modification of borrowed words in the process of borrowing economic vocabulary from English into Russian, namely: narrowing, extension, shift of meaning and also the absence of changes in meanings in the semantic structure of the borrowed unit in the recipient language. The article analyzes the features and causes of the activity of types of modification at different stages of the borrowed word modification.
