ON FIGURATIVE SPEECH UNITS IN THE ARTICLE “KOVALENKO VS BELIKOV” BY M. EPSTEIN

Abstract.
The article analyzes the metaphorical techniques used by M. Epstein in the article “Kovalenko vs Belikov”. A brief analysis of each of the metaphor use is given. As a result of the study the author comes to the conclusion that depending on “the strength” of the symbolic “concentration” and the real context several cases of contextual “evolution” of figurative speech units can be distinguished: from a single simple metaphor to the extended allegorization of a metaphor. In addition, the researcher discovers mixed cases of using figurative units of speech.
