Abstract. The article deals with the implementation of the destructiveness category in the pre-election discourse, characterized by intentional orientation and manipulative potential. By the material of the pre-election speech of Hillary Clinton the authors analyze such communicative tactics of discrediting a political opponent as mockery, lowering of status, etc. The implementation of communicative tactics contributes to achieving the effectiveness of the impact on the audience together with the use of stylistic methods of hyperbolization and parallel constructions.
