ON THE SEMANTICS OF MARKERS OF COMPARATIVE CLUSTERS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the study of the semantics of formal components in the English comparative constructions, objectified as their markers. The author analyzes the specificity of their use to create original textual units based on the comparison of objects, ideas, actions and situations. The paper considers these units as partially formalized lexical units that perform specific functions of textual clips, distinguishes their distinctive properties, subgroups and considers the features of each of them functioning in the English language.
