PRECEDENT STATEMENTS FUNCTIONING IN POLITICAL TEXTS OF THE MASS-MEDIA (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE GERMAN LANGUAGE)

Abstract.
The objective of the article is to analyze the features of the precedent statements functioning in political texts. On the basis of presented examples, it is possible to trace the implementation of this or that function of a precedent statement. The use of precedent statements makes the text more vivid and emotional, helps to convey the opinion, assessment and vision of the author, and it conditions the topicality of this work. Basing on the analysis, the paper concludes that the functions of precedent statements are often implemented in a complex, which suggests such features as versatility and multifunctionality.
