DIRECT IDENTIFIERS OF WOMAN’S ARTISTIC IMAGE IN JACK LONDON’S “COMPLETE COLLECTION NORTHERN TALES”

Abstract. The article presents a methodology for selecting language material. The notion “identifier” is revealed, and identifiers classification is presented. For the comprehensive study of woman’s artistic image in Jack London’s “Complete Collection Northern Tales”, an integrated approach is needed that will allow avoiding subjectivity in the material evaluation and ensure the accuracy and reliability of conclusions. The main attention is paid to the analysis of “direct identifiers”, which makes it possible to characterize the female characters fully, to understand the interpersonal relationships specificity, and uncover idea-thematic focuses.
