Abstract.
The article publishes the results of a work carried out in the framework of the RFBR (Russian Foundation for Basic Research) project on the creation of a direct translation associative dictionary of comparisons. The process of preparing and conducting a mass associative experiment among the Kalmyk respondents is described, the resulting reactions are analysed. The paper discusses the principles of making dictionary entries. The work is accompanied by computerized methods for the synthesis and processing of information: the creation and generation of a questionnaire with stimuli, the input of reaction words and the formation of a statistical report. The conclusion is made about significant changes observed in the specificity of representative vocabulary and the image of the Kalmyks’ world identified on the basis of comparisons.
