Abstract.
The article studies the features of the evolution of E. Britayev’s ideological patriarchal and ethical views in his early works at the beginning of the ХХ century, a particularly difficult and significant period in the history of the ХХ-century Ossetian literature. The authors have found out that the specificity of the artistic reflection of the evolution of E. Britayev’s views on the norms of the traditional Ossetian patriarchal ethics is revealed vividly in such writer’s works as the plays “Уараседзау” (“Having Visited Russia”), “Death Is Better than Shame”, “Two Sisters”, the story “Revenge of the Young Highlander” devoted to the urgent problems of strength, beauty, humaneness of the Ossetian peasantry’s patriarchal ethics.
