Abstract.
The article analyses the Bashkir historical novel from the viewpoint of the representation of the theme of a poet and poetry. The originality of the study lies in the fact that the author’s attention is focused on contemporary literary works, which have not been previously studied. It is shown that poets have always played a key role in the spiritual and material life of the Bashkir people. The literary analysis is focused on such issues as the system of images, certain peculiarities of poetics, style originality. The author identifies specific national features of the novels, draws parallels with the Russian classical works.
