Abstract.
The article focuses on studying the components of the French linguistic personality through the lenses of argotic communication representing discursive preferences in the use of linguistic material in synergy with the ethno-cultural features of the inter-personal format of linguo-cultural interaction. The authors consider the issues at the intersection of linguistics and esthetics of the French national communication within the linguo-semiotic category “Frenchness”. The paper analyzes the psycho-linguistic motives and causes of the speech argotization phenomenon, identifies the mechanisms and principles of argotic usage, which are considered as the manifestation of the national world perception and typological communication models adopted within the French linguistic community. The paper outlines prospects for the further studies of the linguo-esthetics of the French argotic culture.
