ROLE OF PERSONAL NAME IN DICTEME STYLIZATION (BY THE MATERIAL OF W. MORRIS’S NOVEL “A TALE OF THE HOUSE OF THE WOLFINGS”)

Abstract.
The article examines the style-formative potential of a personal name as a nuclear constituent of the dicteme semantic field. It is shown that in W. Morris’s historical novel glorifying Anglo-Saxon England, a personal name actualizes the aspect of the dicteme stylization. Functional orientation of a personal name determines the theme of the dicteme itself and the whole text. Moreover, broadening its semantics towards speech figurativeness, a personal name allows developing the dicteme concept on the basis of correlation of its overall theme and the meaningful content of its notional components.
