Abstract.
The article examines phraseological Africanisms, in particular, proverbs and sayings used in the French-language novels “Les Soleils des Indépendances (The Suns of Independence)” (1968), “En attendant le vote des bêtes sauvages (Waiting for the Wild Beasts to Vote) (1998)” and “Allah n’est pas obligé (Allah Is Not Obliged) (2000)” by the Ivorian writer A. Kourouma (the native language - Mandinka). The conclusion is made that inclusion of phraseological Africanisms in the literary text results in literary Africanization (Mandingization) of Standard French. It is shown that introducing phraseological Africanisms, the writer pursues argumentative and persuasive purposes.
