Abstract.
The paper aims to identify specificity of the Azerbaijani-Tatar literary and cultural relations at the beginning of the XX century. The study focuses on the sphere of scenic literature and theatre art. Scientific originality of the research is conditioned by the fact that this problem has not been previously investigated; there is a lack of scientific works devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the Azerbaijani-Tatar cultural interaction in the initial period of the Tatar dramaturgy and theatre. The following conclusions are justified: joint creative activity of the Tatar and Azerbaijani troupes in 1908, numerous productions of the Azerbaijani plays at the Tatar theatres in the pre-revolutionary period, close cooperation of the Tatar and Azerbaijani cultural figures ensured rapprochement of the two Turkic cultures, had a significant impact on the development of the Tatar theatre and dramaturgy at the beginning of the XX century.
